As I sit here with a moment alone, I find myself writing in bed with nothing but silence around me (minus the clicking of my keyboard). I've been able to breathe deeply and lower my heart rate. Everyone is safe in Spain and ready to go! Praise God.
I think I slept pretty well. I essentially combined the last two days into one since sleep never really found me on the plane. In our hostel last night, a very loud Spanish woman was in the room next to us. With my extreme exhaustion, I was able to turn her noisy ranting into white noise. The only reason I knew she was still going was because at 1:30 am, I woke for a restroom break. Yep, she was still going a mile a minute. She must have passed out sometime in the early morning. For now, silent bliss.

This morning, we will all actually met for the first time as a group at the train station to head to Pamplona. Everything has pretty much worked out perfectly so far. Flights came in on time, the boys and I made it just in time for the Mass I planned, we ate at the amazing Goiko Grill (they have the best hamburgers in the world, deal with it), and visited the Prado art museum (we did get in trouble for taking the photo above). Even the bar/restaurant we went to last night worked out. It is a little hard for me to type how smoothly things are going, because I know that it beckons me to eat those words later.... but so far.
Today, a 3-hour train ride to the beautiful city of Pamplona. I will be interested to see how this city is getting ready for the San Fermin Festival and their famous running of the bulls. San Fermin start on July 6th, but we will be long gone by then.
Tomorrow we are on the Way. I can feel the Camino calling and I am ready to answer!
